Bulgarian historian Prof. Dr. Mariyana Stamova, also a researcher and member of the Institute of Balkan Studies and Centre of Tracology (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences), visited the University of Tetova and the Center for Peace and Transcultural Communication.

At the UT the well-known Bulgarian historian was received by the head of the Center for Peace and Transcultural Communication Mr. Sc. Donika Kamberi. In this working meeting were discussed many topics of common interest between the two institutions and the possibilities of future cooperation with concrete projects for joint study programs and exchange of staff and students for scientific research.

With her scientific activity the Bulgarian historian Prof. Dr. Mariyana Stamova is known not only to the Bulgarian reader but also to the peoples of the region and especially to the Albanian reader as she has published two titles of historical and scientific importance, such as: “The Albanian Factor in the Socialist Republic of Macedonia (1945-1981)” and ” Albanians in the Socialist Republic of Macedonia during the last decade of Tito’s Yugoslavia (1981-1991) “, titles that donated to the University of Tetova.

Mr. Sc. Donika Kamberi thanked the historian for her continued commitment to the Albanian cause and said that she is deeply grateful for the readiness for mutual cooperation in the future.

At the end of the meeting, as a sign of gratitude, to the historian were bestowed several University publications, scientific journals, and the portrait of the Albanian Nobel laureate – Mother Teresa.

Her visit to UT is expected to pave the way for the signing of a memorandum of institutional cooperation in the field of scientific research and other important activities.
